As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our standards for what a quality bed must provide. With 8 unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud uses all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Dealers
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you’re looking to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, especially so for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Dealers
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Dealers
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of the three layers is particularly essential because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at releasing heat, so the addition of those small ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent rebound and assist to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in moderating temperatures as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the entire mattress.
Firmness
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from these springs.
At this point I want to let you know that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving only my view on the general firmness level of the mattress, I invited three additional people to present their opinion too. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you may see from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this mattress, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this bed is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a good bed. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Pressure Map
As opposed to just explaining the feel of the mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was equally distributed throughout the mattress, therefore I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. But, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to shift across these positions with relative ease.
Motion Transfer
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to know what it will feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of movement that is detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Dealers
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
Sinkage Test
When buying a new bed, most men and women want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Dealers
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Edge Support
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the bed as I did at the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
