Construction Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep

Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
Firmness
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure into the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
At this point I want to let you know that individuals of different body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three other individuals to give their opinion as well. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it is definitely a good mattress. While you’ll feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Pressure Map
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the mattress to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I believed the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease.
Motion Transfer
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the night. To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
Sinkage Test
