Personally, I gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this mattress and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Pressure Map
As opposed to simply explaining the feel of this mattress to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can find the results on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped lift me from the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. But, I still felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I thought that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to shift across these positions with relative ease.
Motion Transfer
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you will want to know what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime.
