Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our criteria for what a quality mattress must have. With eight unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Weight Limit
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Weight Limit
The DreamCloud features a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the distinct materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Weight Limit
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft texture up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is especially essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of those small ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in moderating temperatures as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
Firmness
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting mild hand pressure to the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this point I want to let you know that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three other individuals to present their view as well. This will provide you with a much better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of this mattress, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the industry norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this bed is really firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a good mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you from the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Pressure Map
Rather than simply explaining the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was evenly distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and out of the bed, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to shift across these positions with relative ease.
Motion Transfer
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a partner, you will want to find out what it’ll feel like if the other person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of movement that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress from another. Dreamcloud Weight Limit
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
Sinkage Test
While buying a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Weight Limit
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Edge Support
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and will need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it’s likely to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I am especially interested to determine if the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the bed as I did in the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
